This is a VR adventure game, based on the animated Rick and Morty TV show, in which players assume that role of a cloned Morty doing chores for Rick. From a first-person perspective, players interact with characters and use items in the environment to solve puzzles. A handful of interactions lead to mini-games in which players fire lasers at alien creatures and/or other characters. During the course of the game, players have the ability to consume laxatives and feces on the ground, resulting in a vomiting effect. Swear words are heard in the dialogue.

Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly

(Vita)

Content Descriptors: Fantasy Violence, Language, Mild Blood, Mild Suggestive Themes

This is a visual novel in which players help a young woman recover her lost memories after waking up in a mysterious mansion. As the narrative progresses, players can interact with characters and make choices that impact the story. Some interactions lead to still-image sequences that depict instances of violence and/or blood: a man shooting a gun at players' screen; a wounded man with a blood-stained arm and clothing. Players can also engage in a mini-game to shoot butterflies with a target crosshair; realistic gunfire is heard. One still-image sequence depicts a man forcefully kissing a woman with text that reads, “I try to twist away, but I can't escape his grip or his hard kiss”; the dialogue also includes a handful of suggestive references. Swear words are heard in the game.

Video Game New Releases April 17th 2018

Hello and Welcome to Parents Guide 2 Games. Here are the games coming out the week of April 17th 2018.
Yakuza 6: The Song of Life
(PS4)
Rating: Mature
Content Descriptors: Blood, Intense Violence, Partial Nudity, Sexual Content, Strong Language, Use of Alcohol
This is an open-world action game in which players assume the role of a Japanese gangster as he searches for a lost girl. As players explore areas in Tokyo and other cities, they engage in missions that involve fistfights with thugs or rival yakuza members; some fights depict characters using weapons such as pistols, bats, sledgehammers, and pipes. Combat is frenetic, highlighted by screams of pain, gunfire and/or impact sounds, blood-splatter effects, and slow-motion special moves. Players can perform scripted moves after building up a meter; these actions include breaking necks or limbs and using the environment to cause damage. Cutscenes depict more intense acts of violence: characters shot in the head; a gangster shoving a man's face onto hot coals; a character stabbing himself in the belly. The game includes sexual/suggestive material: a man briefly groping a woman's breasts in a nightclub; online chat rooms in which players' character flirts with webcam girls; characters removing their shirts/tops while in provocative poses. One area depicts a character dressed in an outfit with a cutout that exposes his buttocks. During the course of the game, Kazuma can order and drink whiskey at a bar; a status icon denotes character's level of intoxication, while his movement becomes harder to control. Swear words appear in the dialogue.

God of War
(PS4)
Rating: Mature
Content Descriptors: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Strong Language
This is an action-adventure game in which players assume the role of half-human, half-god-like Kratos as he battles supernatural forces with his son. From an over-the-shoulder perspective, players travel through the Norse wilderness and use axes, bows, and swords to battle various enemies. Combat is frequent and often bloody, with characters punching and kicking each other repeatedly, using bladed weapons to slash/stab/impale enemies. Larger enemies and bosses are dispatched in more intense sequences of violence: Kratos slashing and stabbing a dragon's tongue; a character using an axe to hook and tear off an ogre's jaw. During one sequence, players decapitate (off-screen) an imprisoned character and carry the severed head around; headless corpses also appear in other scenes. Swear words appear in the dialogue.

Nintendo Labo Variety Kit and Robot Kit
(Switch)
Rating: Everyone
Content Descriptors: Mild Cartoon Violence
This is an activity game in which players engage in mini-games using 3D cardboard objects along with their game controller. Mini-games include motorbike/RC car racing/driving, fishing, and musical tasks. One mini-game allows players to control a mining cart through a cave as they collect crystals and avoid bombs; brief flames appear if players run into a bomb.
