Darksiders III 

(PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Rating: Mature

Content Descriptors: Blood and Gore, Violence

This is an action role-playing game in which players assume the role of Fury on a quest tohunt down and dispose of the Seven Deadly Sins . As players traverse through fantastical open-world environments, they use oversized blades to kill demonic/angelic creatures. The melee-style combat is accompanied by screaming/flesh-rending sounds, bone-crunching effects, and exaggerated splashes of blood. Players can also initiate “cinematic kills” that depict additional violence: enemies getting impaled, decapitated, or dismembered, similar imagery can be seen during cutscenes. Some female characters are depicted with large amounts of exposed cleavage.

Katamari Damacy Reroll 

(Switch, PC)

Rating: Everyone

Content Descriptors: Alcohol and Tobacco Reference, Mild Fantasy Violence

This is a puzzle-adventure game in which players help a prince rebuild the stars and constellations. Players control a large ball (katamari), rolling around whimsical stages and picking up various items. During some sequences, players can encounter policemen that use pistols to shoot at the katamari. A handful of items include cigarette packs and beer crates.

Battlefield V 

(PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Rating: Mature

Content Descriptors: Blood, Strong Language, Violence

This is a first-person shooter, set in various international locations during World War II, in which players engage in stealth missions, skirmishes, and firefights with enemy soldiers. Players use pistols, machine guns, sniper rifles, and explosives to kill enemies in realistic, frenetic combat. Stealth attacks sometimes include stabbing enemies in the chest at close range. Cutscenes depict characters being strangled and corpses strung up from buildings or rafters. Combat is highlighted by realistic gunfire, screams of pain, large explosions, and blood-splatter effects. Swear words appear in the dialogue.

Wreckfest 

(PS4, Xbox One)

Rating: Teen

Content Descriptors: Mild Lyrics, Mild Violence

This is a demolition-derby-themed racing game in which players compete in no-rules racing action and events. Players drive a variety of vehicles around tracks and arenas, slamming into opponents to cause car damage and to perform takedowns of opponents' vehicles. Players are rewarded for crashes, spin outs, and extra damage inflicted on vehicles. Takedowns can cause drivers to be hurled from their vehicles and thrown into the air; human bodies sometimes remain on racetracks and arena floors, as vehicles drive over them. Song lyrics contain brief allusions to drugs and violence.

Hello and Welcome to Parents Guide 2 Games. Here are the games coming out the week of November 13th 2018.

Hitman 2 

(PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Rating: Mature

Content Descriptors: Blood, Drug Reference, Intense Violence, Strong Language, Suggestive Themes

This is a stealth action game in which players control Agent 47, an assassin tasked with eliminating targets throughout various missions. From a third-person perspective, players use pistols, machine guns, sniper rifles, and various tools to assassinate human characters. Players can also use stealth attacks to eliminate targets and guards at close range. Players have the ability to kill non-adversary characters, though this may negatively affect players' progress and points. Large blood-splatter effects often occur, and pools of blood appear under victims' bodies. During the course of the game, some female characters are seen unconscious and dragged by players' character; their underwear and portions of their buttocks are sometimes depicted. The dialogue also contains suggestive material. Swear words are heard in dialogue.

SNK 40th Anniversary Collection 

(Switch)

Rating: Teen

This is a collection of 21 classic SNK arcade and NES titles that mostly consist of action/adventure games and arcade shooters. A handful of games, viewed from top-down or side-scrolling perspectives, depict small splashes of blood when creatures and enemy soldiers are shot. Some games contain frequent gunfire, several explosions, and cries of pain. Players can also engage in a "beat-'em-up" fighting game in which players use punches and kicks to knock out opponents in one-on-one or two-on-two brawls. An image gallery contains pictures.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy 

(PS4, Xbox One)

Rating: Everyone 10 and up

Content Descriptors: Cartoon Violence, Comic Mischief

This is a collection of three platformer games in which players assume the role of Spyro the Dragon through a series of adventures. Players traverse platform environments, collect various objects, and use fantasy attacks to battle enemy creatures. Enemies generally disappear amid puffs of smoke when defeated. During some sequences, Spyro can take to the air and shoot down enemy planes, resulting in large explosions. Some enemy soldiers comically taunt Spyro by exposing portions of their buttocks.

Fallout 76 

PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Rating: Mature

Content Descriptors: Blood and Gore, Drug Reference, Intense Violence, Strong Language

This is an open-world role-playing game in which players must survive/thrive in a post-apocalyptic world. From a first- or third-person perspective, players search for supplies/food while battling other survivors and mutant creatures. Players use machetes, machine guns, rocket launchers, and grenades to kill ghoul-like creatures and other enemies in frenetic combat. Some weapons allow players to blow ghouls apart, resulting in flying limbs and chunks of flesh; wounded characters can also be executed with gunshots to the head, resulting in decapitation. The game includes frequent references to drugs called Chems, which are sometimes used as plot points for characters; Chems can be found, manufactured, and used to enhance performance/skills of characters, though there is no actual depiction of use. Swear words appear in the dialogue.

Déraciné 

(PSVR)

This is an adventure game in which players assume the role of a faerie who must save children living in a boarding school. From a first-person perspective, players search for clues/items, travel through time, and observe scenarios as they unfold. One scene depicts an evil character stabbing two humans with a knife-like item; the victims are shown vaporizing as their life force is drained.

World of Final Fantasy Maxima 

(PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC)

Rating:  Everyone 10 and up

Content Descriptors: Alcohol Reference, Fantasy Violence, Mild Language, Mild Suggestive Themes

This is a role-playing game in which players help a set of twins recover their lost memory. As players explore a magical world, they can collect and raise fantasy creatures called Mirages to help traverse environments and battle enemy creatures in turn-based combat. Players use weapon attacks and magical abilities to defeat enemies; battles are accompanied by impact sounds and mild explosions. A handful of sequences also depict additional acts of violence: a vampire stabbed in the chest with a stake; characters turned to dust in a fiery blast. The game contains some suggestive material: female character in outfits that reveal moderate amounts of cleavage; dialogue that states, “On the one hand, he must flirt with all the ladies” and “Oh, this one's a tasty morsel! I'd love to get my tentacles around her . . .” The game includes a brief reference to alcohol in a character description: "A consummate connoisseur, it pairs fine wines with the brains it devours." The word “hell” appears in the dialogue.

Overkill's The Walking Dead 

(PS4, Xbox One, PC)

This is a first-person shooter in which players assume the role of one of four survivors during a zombie apocalypse in Washington D.C. Players use machine guns, shotguns, rifles, and melee weapons to infiltrate enemy strongholds, battle human survivors, and defend safehouses against waves of zombies. Battles are frenetic with frequent depictions of decapitation and dismemberment, resulting in large bloodstains and body parts on the ground. Some attacks depict zombies and human enemies being repeatedly stabbed in the head from close-up angles. Swear words are heard in the dialogue.

Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom

(PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC)

Rating: Everyone 10 and up

Content Descriptors: Fantasy Violence, Use of Alcohol

This is a side-scrolling platformer game in which players control a young character who can change into a variety of creatures. As players traverse platforms, they collect coins and attack “cartoony” enemies. Players use swords, fireballs, bombs, and slime to attack characters; enemies generally blink and disappear when defeated. Boss battles depict more protracted combat, loud impact sounds, and screen-shaking effects. One cutscene briefly depicts characters raising frothy mugs in celebration.

Ride 3

This is a motorcycle racing game in which players can race customizable bikes around a variety of international tracks/events. Players can participate in several game modes including Championship, Team Race, and Head to Head.
