Blood + Truth 


(PSVR)

Rating: Mature

Content Descriptors: Blood, Strong Language, Use of Tobacco, Violence

This is VR first-person shooter in which players assume the role of a Special Forces soldier trying to save his family from a criminal overlord in London. Players complete rescue missions, solve puzzles, and infiltrate and/or escape enemy hideouts. Players use pistols, machine guns, and rifles to kill enemy thugs in frenetic combat. Action is highlighted by realistic gunfire, large explosions, and blood-splatter effects. During the course of the game, players can trigger slow-motion effects for precision aiming of enemy body parts; they can also shoot unarmed enemies, inflicting damage after death. In some areas, players can light and smoke cigars from a first-person perspective. Swear words appear in the dialogue.


Little Friends: Dogs & Cats


(Switch)

Ratings: Everyone

This is a pet-care simulation game in which players care for cats and dogs. Players can feed and groom their pets and engage in a variety of activities.

Video Game New Releases May 21st 2019


Hello and Welcome to Parents Guide 2 Games. Here are the games coming out the week of May 21st 2019.


Team Sonic Racing 


(PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC )

Rating: Everyone

Content Descriptors: Mild Cartoon Violence

This is a kart-racing game in which players compete in races with characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Players race through themed tracks and courses, picking up “cartoony” power-ups that cause opponents to spin out and slow down. In one game mode, players can use rocket powers to destroy drone vehicles, earning bonus points and time. 


Everybody's Golf VR 


(PS4)

Rating: Everyone

Content Descriptors: Comic Mischief

This is a golf simulation game in which players practice and compete in realistic rounds of golf. From a first-person perspective, players can play rounds and improve their skills on a driving range. One sequence depicts a caddie slapping the player/camera in an attempt to squash a mosquito.


Total War: Three Kingdoms 


(PC)

Rating: Teen

Content Descriptors: Violence

This is a real-time strategy game in which players engage in campaigns to dominate opposing factions in ancient China. From a top-down perspective, players engage in diplomacy and deploy infantry, archers, cavalry, and other military units. Soldiers use axes, swords, spears, and catapults to fight battles against rival armies. Players can zoom in on soldiers as they slash each other during combat; fighting is highlighted by cries of pain and impact sounds.

It's Back Video Game New Releases May 14th 2019


I am sorry for no blogs fortwo weeks. There were no new releases. I meant to make some different posts, but life happens.

A Plague Tale: Innocence 


(PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Rating: Mature

Content Descriptors: Blood and Gore, Strong Language, Violence

This is an adventure game in which players assume the role of a girl fleeing hardship and struggle in 14th-century France. From a third-person perspective, players avoid swarms of rats and use stealth tactics to sneak around soldiers. One method of deterring rats is to lure them to corpses or soldiers, who are shown screaming as they are bitten/eaten. Cutscenes depict characters being impaled by swords, struck by arrows or maces, and stabbed by spears. Some game environments contain corpses that have been impaled, burned, or partially-eaten/mutilated. Swear words appear in the dialogue.


Rage 2 


(PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Rating: Mature

Content Descriptors: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Strong Language, Suggestive Themes

This is a first-person shooter in which players assume the role of a man fighting in a post-apocalyptic world. From a first-person perspective, players use pistols, machine guns, grenades, and futuristic weapons to attack and kill mutant creatures and humans in frenetic combat. Action is highlighted by realistic gunfire, explosions, and screams of pain. Large blood-splatter effects occur frequently, and several weapons cause enemies to explode into chunks of flesh; some weapons can also result in decapitations. One scene requires players to search for an item amid a corpse's entrails. Game text contains some suggestive/sexual material. Swear words appear in the dialogue.


Bubsy: Paws of Fire! 


(PS4, Switch, PC)

Rating: Everyone

Content Descriptors: Comic Mischief, Mild Cartoon Violence

This is a platformer game in which players assume the role of (Bubsy) through whimsical levels of hazards and enemies. Players collect yarn balls and gems and defeat enemies by jumping on their heads, causing them to burst into puffs of smoke. Boss battles depict more frenetic action, with UFOs shooting lasers/bursts of fire at Bubsy.
