Video Game New Releases June 5th 2018


Hello and Welcome to Parents Guide 2 Games. Here are the games coming out the week of June 5th 2018.
BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle
(Switch, PS4, PC)
Rating: Teen

This is a fighting game in which players engage in tag team one-on-one fighting matches. Characters mostly punch, kick, and throw each other in an attempt to drain opponents' health meters. Each character can also use large-scale special attacks, and several characters use weapons such as pistols, swords, or giant claws. Fights are highlighted by cries of pain, impact sounds, and frequent light effects. Some female characters wear low-cut clothing, revealing large amounts of cleavage and jiggling breasts. Swear words appear in the dialogue.

Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn
(PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC)

This is a side-scrolling fighting game in which players assume the role of Shaquille O'Neil, as he rids the world of demons disguised as celebrities. As players travel from China to Hollywood, they fight thugs, demons, and boss characters in melee combat. Characters mostly punch and kick each other, and some enemies use weapons or fire blasts to defeat opponents. Combat is highlighted by impact sounds, cries of pain, and occasional explosions. Some segments of the game contain sexual material: a character viewing a woman's buttocks as the camera zooms in; horns sprouting from a female character's breasts; song lyrics referencing sexuality. The game also includes instances of crude humor: a demonic, disembodied buttocks that emits green gas clouds; dialogue/text referencing bathroom humor. During the course of the game, players can break apart boxes labeled “steroids” in order to gain an energy boost; drugs are also referenced in lyrics.

Vampyr
(PS4, Xbox One, PC)
Rating: Mature

This is a third-person action game in which players assume the role of a surgeon roaming through London as a vampire. Players learn vampire skills/abilities; track citizens as potential prey; and battle other vampires, ghouls, and vampire hunters in frenetic combat. Characters mostly use swords or guns to attack enemies; Jonathan can also rip out the throats of human enemies by stalking and biting them. Some sequences depict executions of characters on and off-screen—a man's decapitated head appears on the ground in one off-screen killing. Blood-splatter effects occur frequently, and some environments depict mutilated corpses covered in blood. The game includes some sexual material: references to a priest molesting a child; a prostitute soliciting a character on the street. During the course of the game, a character is depicted slapping his arm for a vein, then injecting himself with a drug off-screen. Swear words appear in the dialogue.

MotoGP 18
(PS4, Xbox One, PC)
Rating: Everyone

This is a racing simulation game in which players ride motorcycles in real-world MotoGP events and tracks. Players compete in a variety of game modes including Managerial Career, Rider Career, and Quick Mode.

Super Bomberman R
(PS4, Xbox One, PC)
Rating: Everyone 10 and up
Content Descriptors: Cartoon Violence
This is an adventure game in which players attempt to save the universe from an evil emperor. Players traverse platform environments, defeat enemies with the placement of “cartoony” bombs, and engage in frequent boss battles. Enemies generally fall over when struck by bombs. Boss battles can be frenetic, requiring players to use bombs in more complex combinations; action is highlighted by large, fiery blasts of energy, explosions, and cries/growls of pain.
