Video Game New Releases August 28th 2018


Hello and Welcome to Parents Guide 2 Games. Here are the games coming out the week of August 28th 2018.


Firewall: Zero Hour 


(PSVR)

Rating: Teen

Content Descriptors: Blood, Violence

This is a VR first-person shooter in which players assume the role of private military contractors through various missions. Players must fulfill their contract as either an attacker or defender by completing objectives and/or eliminating enemy threats. Players use machine guns, pistols, and explosives to kill opponents. Firefights are accompanied by realistic gunfire and large explosions; quick splashes of blood appear when characters are shot.


Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate 


(Switch)

Rating: Teen

Content Descriptors: Blood, Crude Humor, Mild Suggestive Themes, Violence

This is an action-adventure game in which players engage in hunting missions in a world filled with monsters. Players complete missions/quests and use swords, lances, bombs, and firearms to kill various creatures in frenetic combat. Battles are accompanied by impact sounds, cries of pains, and realistic explosions. Brief blood spurts appear as characters and monsters are injured. Players can equip female characters with revealing outfits that depict large amounts of cleavage. During the course of the game, players can throw “dung bombs” at enemies, resulting in depictions of greenish-brown clouds.


Pro Evolution Soccer 2019

This is a soccer simulation game in which players control soccer teams from international leagues. Players can compete in a variety of modes (e.g., Training, UEFA Champions League, Master League) and improve their skills through practice shootouts and drills.




Yakuza Kiwami 2 


(PS4)

Rating: Mature

Content Descriptors: Blood, Intense Violence, Sexual Themes, Strong Language, Use of Alcohol

This is an open-world action game in which players assume the role of a former Japanese gangster trying to keep peace between warring syndicates. Players explore parts of Tokyo and Osaka and engage in missions that often result in fistfights with thugs and/or rival gang members. Characters use knives, pipes, and swords during combat and can trigger scripted special attacks after successfully building up an attack meter. Combat is accompanied by screams of pain, large blood-splatter effects, and close-up camera angles. Cutscenes also depict intense acts of violence: characters shot in the head; characters gunned down inside an elevator; a man executed with a shotgun. The game includes sexual/suggestive material: a sequence in a video parlor in which players hear suggestive moaning sounds and dialogue; a mini-game in which players engage in a photoshoot and view videos of real women posing in revealing outfits—some clips depict camera angles that focus on models' cleavage and buttocks. During the course of the game, Kazuma can order and drink alcoholic beverages at various bars: players are rewarded for drinking in the form of experience points; a status icon denotes character's level of intoxication, while his movement becomes harder to control. Swear words appear in the dialogue.



Blade Strangers

This is a fighting game in which players compete in one-on-one matches against characters from classic gaming franchises. Players punch, kick, and use weapons to drain opponents' life meters. Characters also perform super attacks in which opponents are struck by meteorites, rockets blasts, and/or electrocuted by lightning strikes. Combat is accompanied by sword slashes, impact sound effects, and large explosions. Some attacks cause black blood-like splatters to appear on screen; one character's attack causes a door with red blood-like markings to appear. The game contains some suggestive material: dialogue about characters' breasts and/or lack of clothing; close-up camera angles of characters' jiggling breasts; female characters dressed in outfits that expose large portions of their breasts and/or buttocks. Swear words are heard in the game.


Divinity: Original Sin 2 


(PS4, Xbox One)

Rating: Mature

Content Descriptors: Blood and Gore, Language, Sexual Themes, Violence

This is a role-playing game in which players assume the role of a hero on a quest to stop an evil called the Void. From a 3/4 overhead perspective, players explore the fantasy world of Rivellon, interact with various characters, and engage in turn-based combat against human enemies and fantastical creatures. Characters use weapon strikes and magic attacks to defeat enemies in combat; battles are accompanied by blood-splatter effects that stain the surrounding environment. Some areas depict large pools of blood amid human corpses and dismembered limbs. The game contains some sexual material: the central character can employ the services of a prostitute at a pub—no sexual activity is depicted, though the dialogue/text makes sexual references. Swear words areheard in dialogue.



Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker 


(PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Rating: Teen

Content Descriptors: Cartoon Violence, Mild Language

This is an action-fighting game in which players compete to win the Ninja World League Tournament. Players complete missions gain ranks, and battle opponents in hand-to-hand combat. Players mostly punch, kick, and use various special attacks to defeat enemy ninjas and creatures in frenetic melee-style combat. Players can also use blades, scythes, throwing knives, and shurikens to inflict damage on characters. Battles are highlighted by large explosions, impact sounds, and cries of pain. Swear words are heard in the dialogue.
